The team Brain and Communication has expertise on disorders, appearing in the aging population, like dementia, Parkinson, aphasia, dysarthria and dysphagia (swallowing disorders).

- the implementation of tDCS as a treatment for a diversity of neurological disorders
- improvement of the daily communication between care givers, relatives and the person with aphasia (e.g., Communicare)
- development of diagnostic instruments (e.g., CAT-NL, MEC-NL, CCAS-NL)
- evidence-based therapy appoaches (e.g., "Logoclicks - Afasietherapie").
